West Bountiful holds a special place in my heart, I want to serve the community that I have called home for nearly 30 years.
I believe in a measured approach, and seeking to understand the different perspectives that surround issues.
I aim to:
Continue the good work of past councils in improving and maintaining city infrastructure, and supporting the people that make that happen.
Protect and improve recreation in the city, focused on trails and connectivity, while keeping future needs in mind.
Promote community involvement and connection by supporting city and community activities and organizations.
I appreciate your consideration and vote for West Bountiful City Council.
Why I want to serve
The Family
Korri and I both grew up here and love West Bountiful. Married in 2020, this is where our roots are and where we decided to grow our family.
Education and Work Experience
I have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with minors in Mandarin and Ceramics from the University of Utah. I have spent the last seven years working in Environmental Compliance at the HF Sinclair (Holly) Refinery. Through that I have sharpened my eye for detail, and developed a sense for the difference between clear and convoluted regulation. I am also a member of the city Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee (EmPAC).
Housing and Growth
Growing up I can remember the open fields that used to be in pockets and are thankfully still throughout the city, especially the daylily farm across the street. The small town feel is what draws many to our city. This is as much due to land use as it is to the people who call the city home. I believe in well thought out planning and zoning that doesn’t ignore the fact that housing and cost of living is only going up, and on many people’s minds. To me this includes consideration of combined use opportunities along 500 South, and weighing the pro’s and con’s surrounding detached ADU’s (internal and attached ADU’s are already legal in the city) and other measures to carefully keep West Bountiful unique and welcoming.
Infrastructure, Maintenance, and City Employees
I want to continue the good work of past councils in improving and maintaining city infrastructure, and supporting the people that make that happen. If you haven’t met the folks involved in the City’s Public Works, Police and other departments, you are missing out. They are passionate and dedicated people who do the heavy lifting in keeping the city running. I want to keep it that way, giving them the support they need to do the expert jobs that they do.
